Health and Safety Consultant

Contract – Initially for 3 Months
£200 – 240 per day

My client is looking to recruit a Health and Safety Consultant on a contract basis, initally for 3 months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the set up, implementation and monitoring of the health and safety function within the organisation as well as on site training for staff. You will liaise with various departments to ensure the smooth implementation of processes and procedures. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support and advice to both office and manufacturing teams in all aspects of health and safety.

Duties:

• Ensuring all company Health and Safety procedures are implemented and updated, reviewing company procedures
• Completing safety inspections and completing audits
• Ensuring a safe workplace environment is maintained with any improvements implemented
• Arranging and carrying out incident / accident investigations as required
• Delivering safety training
• Maintaining records of the company safety systems
• Producing reports as required by management teams

Skills and experience:

• Proven experience within a health and safety role gained in a manufacturing environment is essential
• Health & Safety Qualifications relating to manufacturing environments
• Excellent IT skills
• Keen eye for detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to assess information, evaluate solutions and devise appropriate course of action
• A full valid UK driving licence
