Learning Mentor needed for PRU / Pupil Referral Unit

Are you an experienced and highly skilled Learning Mentor looking for a new challenge? Do you want the opportunity to enrich the lives of troubled children? Are you able to maintain control under difficult circumstances?

A Pupil Referral Unit is desperately seeking a confident, enthusiastic Learning Mentor with exceptional behaviour management skills.

The PRU / Pupil Referral Unit is based in Hull and offers an alternative curriculum to students aged 11 – 16 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

As a Learning Mentor, it is essential that you have a good standard of education and are able to identify areas of improvement required when working on a 1:1 basis.

You will also support across a range of vocational courses, such as Construction and Hospitality, and Outdoor Education activities. For this reason you’ll need to be dynamic and comfortable over a range of matters, but above all your ability to relate to the pupils and manage behaviour will be the most beneficial in this role.

At present, roles available vary between 3-5 days per week.
