Senior Care Assistant

Principle Responsibilities aside from those as Care Assistants

• Help to ensure that all junior and domestic staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.
• Assist service users with their personal care needs.
• Help with the formulation of social and Support Plans for new service users and with service user reviews.
• Help to control the issue of drugs for which the home has taken responsibility and to maintain the necessary records.
• Participate in the development of activities for service users in which they can join and which will enhance their quality of life.
• Help to ensure that the preparation, cooking and serving of food meet the required standards.
• Help to ensure that rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained and adequately heated.
• Participate in staff meetings and in staff training and development activities.
• Support the Care Manager in their duties as the “responsible officer for the home under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the fire regulations.
• Help the Manager maintain such logbooks and records as may be required by the registering authority and the owner of the home.
• Assist with the smooth running of the home in the absence of the Manager
• Provide “On Call “ at Managers request in her absence

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: £8.20 /hour

Experience:

• providing care: 3 years (Preferred)
• supervisory: 1 year (Preferred)

Licence:

• NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (Preferred)
• Driving License (Preferred)
