Role Description
We are looking for caring and positive Support Workers to join our existing team of 14 for our service in a lovely village just outside Selby. We have 1 permanent post for 35 hours per week where you will be supporting4 gentlemen with a learning disability in a supported living setting, they are all of different ages and varying degrees of ability.
We have two people with mild learning disability, of which one is physically quite dependent, and two people with more profound learning disability. You will be required to provide personal care for three of the people we support and prompting for the other person. They all live in a lovely home which adapted to meet their needs.
Car drivers would be preferable as three of the people we support have motability cars and like to get out and about in the community and attending regular activities. One person we support is a Leeds United fan and has a season ticket for all the home matches. A lot of the activities they enjoy doing are arts based and include drama, literature and visual arts.
They all enjoy socialising in the local community and frequently go to the village pub and a local club most weeks. Your support will enable them to live a fulfilling life and also help them to achieve the things that are important to them.
Flexibility is important as shifts are throughout the day and evening, nights they may be spread across the week/weekends and includes bank holidays. As all our shifts are on a rota basis you will know at least a month ahead what shifts you have been allocated for allowing you to plan your time accordingly.
