Transport/Depot Shift Manager

We’re looking for a Depot Shift Manager to oversee our busy collections and delivery service (drivers/contractors) in a very busy and demanding environment – ensuring that the depot is in a position to deliver amazing service to our customers on a daily basis.

It’s a challenging role which carries a great deal of responsibility for:

• Managing a large team of drivers, contractors and support staff in the planning and organising of transport schedules and operational work of the collection and delivery function
• Ensuring all transport services comply with company policy, legal legislation/regulations
• Liaising with all departments and support services to provide a quality service set against company and customer standards

The Depot Shift Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager and be an integral part of a close-knit management team. Therefore you will need to demonstrate:

• Experience in a transport environment
• Proven leadership and all-round excellent managerial skills
• An ability to work quickly and make effective decisions under pressure
• Good IT and analytical skills in order to utilise some of the most advanced technology in our industry

The depot operates on a 7 day a week basis and these roles will require a commitment to some Saturday and/or Sunday working.
