darts (Doncaster Community Arts) has won a share of a £1million fund that supports under-18s nationwide

Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire backed darts to win a prize of £5,000 at a recent gala dinner, where cash awards were made to those winning the most votes in an online competition.

The life-changing funds will go towards All Aboard – a programme for children and young people with disabilities and their families to promote independence, offer exciting creative activities and provide opportunities to express themselves. darts’ All Aboard programme supports over 120 disabled children and young people each year to engage in a wide range of art forms including sculpture, DJing, drama, drumming, music tech and visual arts.

This generous funding will enable darts to expand the programme, increasing activity and enabling more disabled children to benefit.

darts’ Programmes Manager Hayley Beecher said: “It is a huge achievement to have won an amazing £5,000 through the Persimmon Homes Building Futures scheme.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for darts. Your support means we can help even more disabled children and their families to enjoy creative activities through All Aboard.”

The Persimmon Homes’ Building Futures scheme is being delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation, which last year donated £620,000 to support children’s sport.

Persimmon Homes is an official partner of Team GB and the Persimmon Charitable Foundation enlisted the help of medalists Kat Copeland and Callum Skinner to help determine the three regional finalists for each business division.
