Doncaster Business for the Community has confirmed that the annual cricket challenge will this year take place at Tickhill Cricket Club.
The cricket event, entering its third year, will take place on Sunday 8th September, and intends to raise money for local charities and community projects. Like other years, the ‘Commercial Legends’ and ‘Business All-stars’ will compete for the DB4C Vase in a 20-20 game format.
The event is organised by Doncaster Business for the Community, the ground-breaking and highly innovative charitable trust run entirely by the town’s business community. Their popular cricket event has gone from strength to strength with a tried and tested format, and like all of DB4C’s sporting events, players will be drawn from across the business community.
Last year the event took place at Town Fields Cricket Club, raising over £5,000 for two local charities: Riding for the Disabled at Rossington Hall and The Children’s Sleep Charity located in Woodfield Park.
This year DB4C have chosen beneficiaries The Hygiene Bank and Create A Dream Foundation, who carry out vital work in the local community.
Dave Plant, coordinator of DB4C’s Cricket said: “We are very excited about this year’s event and new venue. We are now actively seeking players and sponsors with the first training session scheduled for 1st July at Tickhill Cricket Club.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available and anyone interested is urged to contact Business Doncaster on 01302 735555.
