Enjoy hands-on fun at Elvie’s Petting Farm as furry and feathered friends arrive at Lakeside Village

Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping in Doncaster will host Elvie’s Farm Petting Farm on 25 and 26 July as part of a thrilling summer events schedule to celebrate its 30th birthday.

Marking the beginning of the school holidays, the petting farm will give visitors big and small the opportunity to meet some of Elvie’s friendliest farmyard visitors for a hands-on experience to be enjoyed by the whole family.

The interactive space offers children the chance to learn about a host of gentle animals in a safe and welcoming environment, giving them the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and create memories for life.

“Elvie’s Petting Farm is a must-visit for animal lovers of all ages, and we’re delighted to be hosting our farmyard friends as part of our wider 30th anniversary year celebrations,” Lakeside Village’s deputy centre manager Abby Chandler says.

“The experience will give little ones the chance to safely interact with some very special visitors to Lakeside Village, and enjoy the enrichment that comes with seeing our friendly animals up close.”

At the heart of the summer programme is Elvie’s Farm Family Fun Zone, open daily until 31 August in Unit 12 and on the Village Green, where younger visitors to Lakeside Village can enjoy themed play areas, games and creative activities.

Families can also tackle Elvie’s Farm Trail and enjoy a round of crazy golf. The petting farm will return on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August, and further fun can be found throughout the summer, including the return of creative workshops and Sammy the Sheep’s Bucking Bronco.

Further anniversary events are planned throughout the summer, including a family-friendly celebration on White Rose Way on Saturday 15 August, thirty years to the day when Lakeside Village, then named The Yorkshire Outlet, was first unveiled to the public.

Visitors can enjoy face painting, a birthday gold rush, party games and a special ‘meet and greet’ with Shaun the Sheep. A special giant birthday cake will be unveiled along with 400 cupcakes which will be given away throughout the event.

Elvie’s Petting Farm at Lakeside Village is open 11am-4pm on Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July.
