Project Engineer

My client are a market leading design and manufacturer of automated machinery including materials handling/ conveyor systems with applications across a number of sectors.

They are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer on either a long-term contract or permanent staff basis, to join their already successful projects team with immediate effect, as they have an extremely strong order book and several projects running coherently which need to be delivered.

Responsibilities:

• Continuous interaction with the customer, developing a strong working relationship, and regularly updating them with regards to progress
• Working closely with design team to ensure customer specifications are being adhered to, whilst constantly assessing feasibility and overcoming any design issues which may arise
• Site visits to ensure designs are being implemented successfully and supervision of installation/commissioning teams
• Commercial management of project, with strict financial and contractual control
• Occasional hands-on 2D/3D CAD software use, modifying designs as and when necessary
• Knowledge of UK HSE regulations and safe working procedures

Profile:

• Formal qualification in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Systems Engineering (ideally Degree level)
• Background in design including some experience of hands-on 2D/3D CAD software
• Able to manage and deliver major contracts
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with customers, colleagues, and senior management alike
• Specific knowledge of materials handling/ conveyor systems and general automated machinery
